Detailed information on Pioneer funds

Aimed at all organisations that want to try something new at Campus Helsingborg. The funds are to be used for innovative activities in the form of projects. Each organisation can apply for SEK 0.1 million per year for a maximum of 1 year (apply for a one-off amount of SEK 0.1 million).

The interpretation of "innovative activities" is broad. Here are some examples of activities that can be carried out under the Pioneer Fund.

  • New approach to research in interaction with society
  • New approach to research in interaction with society
  • New approach to outreach of research or education
  • New approach to the development of research, education or cooperation facilities

Eligible applicants: Permanent staff of LU - with current or planned placement at Campus Helsingborg.

Allocation decisions are made by the Campus Helsingborg Board after preparation by a special evaluation committee.

Application procedure Pioneer Fund

Criteria for applications

The initiative must have a project coordinator (responsible) with a permanent position at Lund University. The coordinator must have a current or planned location on the Helsingborg campus.

Formal application requirements

•    CV of the main applicant 
•    Project description of maximum 2 pages. The description includes
o    Description of the project
o    Timeliness - why is this initiative relevant now?
o    Innovative - how is this project innovative?
o    Description of the parties and people involved in the project
o    Objectives and impact expected from the project 
•    Budget
•    Signature of the Head of Department of the main applicant
 

Detailed information on New Interdisciplinary Initiatives

New Interdisciplinary Initiatives. This programme is aimed at new and untested constellations that aim to create an academic environment. Each constellation can apply for SEK 1 million per year for a maximum of 3 years.

To apply for funding at this level, new and untested environments must be able to demonstrate

  • future knowledge development through research and collaboration in a specified area, to be located in Helsingborg.
  • demonstrate high quality research in a precise area, this can be demonstrated, for example, by the fact that the main idea is already anchored in research conducted by the individual researchers in the group 
  • participants from at least two faculties
  • have the intention to develop Lund University's activities in Helsingborg 
  • the competence of the participants through the composition of the group, leadership skills, other relevant expertise for the subject area

Application procedure New interdisciplinary initiatives

Criteria for applications

The initiative must have a project coordinator (responsible), who has a permanent position at Lund University. This person must have a current or planned location at Campus Helsingborg. In addition to the project coordinator, there must be a core of researchers/teachers from Lund University who work, or plan to work, at Campus Helsingborg within the framework of the establishment.

Formal requirements for the application

  • CV of the main applicant, and list of co-applicant researchers/teachers 
  • Project description of maximum 6 pages. The description includes:
    • idea and implementation - What is the idea? How will it be implemented?
    • timeliness - why should this be prioritised now?
    • description of the parties and persons involved in the initiative
    • clear objectives and effects/results (impact) the initiative expects 
    • description of planned activities
      • brief description of how the initiative will promote research, education and collaboration at Campus Helsingborg 
    • Budget for planned activities that covers both direct and indirect costs
    • CV attachment (max. 2 pages per person) for co-applicant researchers/teachers
    • Signature of the head of department of the main applicant and of the dean of the main applicant


The evaluation committee will assess the applications received based on the following criteria

  • choice of programme: timeliness, relevance and quality of research
  • expected deliverables: choice of activities and planning, expected results and their expected impact, feasibility of the proposal
